nothing to be ashamed of

licking wounds together

for communication never felt so good

when comparing notes on the

scumbags that litter the earth &

laughing at one another’s former sorrows

mutually strengthens,

it brings out the best in two or more people who

probably would have locked up their hearts &

thrown away the keys

only moments ago---

how lucky we are to be amidst others who

go through pain &

who are at the edge of their ropes,

for it reminds us that this whole accidental bad joke

that we call a life

is something that favors no one

when it comes to the ways in which it can f**k up you

inside &

there may be nothing sweeter than to

be understood

by someone who just met you,

a new you, whose life to them is but a clean slate &

not the burning ash pile

which you thought it was.
