another quickie on my phone

I write just for the hell of it
A way to spend some time
Blurting out in cyberspace
Whatever's on my mind

Maybe funny maybe tragic
Refrigerators that attack
X's texting money shots
The garden of anal sex

I'm not much on metaphors
Just good old fashion text
If you don't read into anything
You won't be so perplexed

Heavy writers run in packs
Read them if that's your shtick
Me I'm just a trickster poet
In real life thinks with his dick

If you crave deeper meaning
Read something by the Muse
She's all deep and arty and s**t
I write mostly to self amuse

No my message is not profound
and I got nothing deep to say
If it's art and beauty you want
You best be on your way

When I was in college one of my writing professors said two things to me. One: Writing is never finished, it's abandoned. And two: Write what you know. That is basically what you are saying here. You're not faking anything in order to be accepted and you're not putting up a facade. There is a style for everyone and an audience for each.

My semi-ballad "Love has Many Faces (or Noses) has garnered more reviews than anything else I've written. I did not put any meaning into it. It is not a beautiful love poe. It's a trivial piece meant solely for entertainment.

I remember that piece. I wrote one called "Where are we eating" that got over 800 views and sat at number one for days. It was a silly piece I wrote in about 15 minutes trying to break out of writers block

you are definitely forthright and brutally honest with your feelings but i have seen a much more refined side of ricochet when he wants to go there...this is called diversity of venue/genre...and you excel at doing whatever you feel like at any given time...like it or not, it makes you hugely popular on here, or have you not noticed yourself on the top writers page recently? baby ricochet is one of the best writers on this site...
