When I came home from my first deployment to Iraq I found out the sheer number of civilian casualties we were creating and how many of us being killed and wounded was being sanitized by military censors. They were trying to make the occupation sound like desert storm and nothing could have been further from the truth. American news reports were an exorcise in reality bending I had difficulty believing was happening. Even Aljazeera was closer to the truth than what CNN, FOX and the Majors was reporting. It was quite surreal. I've not trusted American news media since. The BBC is where I go for real news
