Vacancy

Vacancy

A Poem by demureminds

I’m filled with nothing,

vacancy

arising

incrementally

in my meat,

skin,

bones.

My mind wonders

precariously,

searching for warmth

in each crevice,

turn

of my body,

knowing

there is

none.

My contents

freeze

away inside,

each organ,

gathering

and ready to dispose,

or melt away.

And my soul has since fled

in search itself

residing everywhere

but inside me,

how lucky.
