Mock Alabaster

Mock Alabaster

A Poem by demureminds

I’m caked with clay,

mock alabaster

slathered

on me

ferociously,

don’t I look ravishing?

My legs are barred together

and my torso a bit slant

My skin patterned like feathers

and my arms posed for dance.

I am but another

three-leaf clover,

touched up

by the big artiste

who holds my lease,

infinitely binding me

to the rest of society.
