Seize Before Deceasing

Seize Before Deceasing

A Poem by demureminds

Succulently drained

from yesterday’s sorrows,

promising myself a brighter tomorrow.

Left forsaken to comprehend

that nothing will ever change.

Dissipating the cliche phrases,

the wise proverbs,

a swindler’s

judicious spoken word

that does me no good

in the end.

Frisking through word search puzzles,

Finding the most difficult words first,

succumbing to the search

of easy empty letters that want

not to be found

just yet,

so I wait.

Delaying the essence of my chronicle,

I postulate the fragility,

the vitality

of myself,

taken for granted,

advantages never handed

to me,

a theory I should’ve seized

long ago.

A lifetime spent like seconds

at a ripe

age of five,

left deceased in a deathbed,

soaked in an abundance of regrets.

This is such a sad piece. Life is indeed too short, to have any regrets. Your wording was done brilliantly as well. A powerful write indeed.

I absolutely adore your use of vocabulary! Every phrase held my attention, and you have yet to have lost it. The ending, might I add, is amazing; you've ended it quite perfectly. Well done.
