DeprivedA Poem by Denisesleep deprived
Sleep dazed haze, eyelids flutter Mind is my keeper, but full of clutter There in body, thoughts closed up like a shutter Restless, rocking back and forth words coming out in a mutter Deprived, deceived, perceived, underachieved and speaking in a stutter Tomorrow will never
come, never come, never come, but here it is Winking its tired eyes at me in conspiracy. Laughing at me in irony Staring down at me in its consistency Stealing the night away in secrecy Waiting for my black and puffy eyes to open wearily Barely, peeking open, hoping the night will steal the light Tonight will never
come, never come, never come, but here it is Needing quiet, peace, and mind at ease Soft pillows, cool sheets mocking me with tease Oh how the crying can’t be appeased On my knees, begging for ease, bring me mercy, please One sweet dream, one sweet slumber Let tonight be the night to fulfill my needs © 2013 DeniseReviews
