Arctic

Reworked. Added two more lines and feel much better now with the finished product...Plus found a really great photo that sets the seen :)

Frozen rocks creating jagged edifices.
Cerulean and alabaster paint the sky.
Windswept desert of blinding light.
God's castles soaring high.

Uninhabitable, in-survivable landscape.
Crusts of sparkling diamond untouched.
Unmarred by humanity.
Life, balanced in Mother Nature's clutch.

From sea to land and land to sea.
Rugged creatures roam glacial atmosphere.
Frigid Arctic temperatures sweep the barren land.
While oceans roar silently below the frozen frontier.

Inspired by watching Planet Earth and the beautiful ice worlds of the artic.

Very visual imagery, you can almost feel the barren terrain beneath your feet and feel the bitterly cold howling winds.

It's a great start... some strong descriptive words and images. The image of the ocean's movement beneath the surface would make a good ending, so if you do add to it, maybe keep this as the ending and add in between.

New version: yes, it feels more fluid and more balanced now. And i like the gentle abcb rhyme scheme, especially untouched/clutch.

I don't see how this weakened as it progressed. Your word choices and the visuals you create are strong throughout. I like it very much! Makes me wanna take that Alaska cruise I've been looking at for years, recognizing Alaska is far and removed from the Arctic!
