CongratulationsA Poem by dillonjensenI was going to make a really long and dramatic post about love, but I'll leave it at I played myself. She broke my heart Because I shattered hers. She wanted me to feel what she felt, To sit in anguish, Just as she did years prior. So she devised a brilliant plan. She did exactly what I did, And set forth an enormous trail of bread crumbs. Me being me, Lacking confidence and self-esteem, I genuinely thought she was interested, Which is why I took the bait so easily. She played along, And all the more attached I got. She pulled the trigger at the perfect time, Piercing a hole so fine, And deep that it took me off guard, Just like she knew it would. Now I get the humor in our predicament, She got me to let my walls down, As I did to her years ago, And then she stopped responding, Knowing the silence would drive me insane, Because that's what it did to her, That's what I did to her.
