Smile kid :)A Poem by dillonjensenMost people I know put up this facade of happiness, when I can see right through that first layer.
Smile kid, that's what I've always been told.
Always searching for an answer, but I come up with more questions. Smile kid, it never gets old. Why don't they just leave me alone? I didn't ask for sympathy. Smile kid, you'll be great one day. Am I average now then, or was that supposed to make me feel better? Smile kid, you're on your way. I'm lost on this yellow brick road, not knowing where to go next. Smile kid, you have so much to look forward to. A life of hatred and denial, coupled with nothing of desire. Smile kid, anything you can get through. I'm tired of walking though, my feet endlessly strike the Earth with no purpose. Smile kid, your meaning is too great. Placing thou on a pedestal will do no justice in the end. Smile kid, yeah I get that a lot. The facade is no more, so give me a reason to smile. © 2012 dillonjensenAuthor's Note
