Deathbed

Deathbed

A Poem by Gerhardus Retief

Lying There Nothing You Can Do
Caretakers Staring At Your Soul
Only Half Alive Staring Blankly
Awoken By An Empty Hallway
Confused Not Knowing Who's There
Still Denying Your Sickness
Shaking Around With Amusement
Staring At Cold Souls
They Staring Back At You
Creating A Realm Of Illusions
Asking You To Free Them
Before You Become The Same
Holding Onto A Downward Slide
Empty Inside Dying And Crying
Reincarnating The Mist Later On
No one To Believe You
Injecting The Meromorphic Into Your Mind
Stepping Into The Act Of Courage
Reminding Yourself Someone Has To
Seeing A Shadow Zone Comforting
Your Agony Forgetting The Pandemonium
So Tired Of Figuring Out
Leaving Yourself As A Messiah
Killing The Only Thing That Keeps You Alive
Understanding Why You Feel So Cleaved
Showing Yourself Visions Listening To Voices
Time To Take Control Telling Yourself
Hardened To Let It Go
Giving Into The Darkness That Awaits
Hoping That There Wont Be Damnation
Secondary Clear Light Swaying Away
Pulling You Where Afterlife Screams
Moving In A Psychedelic Pattern
Seeing Another Mysticism
The Long Lost Myth Finally Uncovered
