Ever notice how when it rains,

 is the only time you ever see the earthworms.

And when it rains,

 is the only time you reflect upon how infertile the earth would be without them.

Nice thought to ponder really, for some reason it made me think of soldiers, a similar comparison perhaps, we would like to think we don't need them, but when it rains you would like to know there would be some protection from any sort of onslaught. There are a great deal of things we don't pay attention to really until in a certain circumstance, and then wonder what would life/ the earth be like if they were gone.. It's sad really that it seems that human nature doesn't really allow for all that much consideration of extinction until something is gone then they simply look to a cure rather than prevention which surely would have to be far more effective.
