Is Fate the One I make

Is Fate the One I make

A Poem by Donald

One of doubt and acceptance

Is Fate the One I make

Is fate the one I make,
for destiny's sake,
is it the path that I have chosen,
across a vast ocean.

It is an ocean of tears,
set before me,
an ocean of fears,
that keeps me near.

What do I defy,
if I even try,
is it a lie,
if I die.

A path is set before me,
a path that I am meant to choose,
something meant to define me,
am I meant to lose.

Am I full of grief,
or is it relief,
as I reach my destination,
for my revelation.

Tell me it isn’t so,
is this my final role,
the place I must go,
before life takes its toll.

Is this some damnation,
set before my path,
some accusation,
where I must face it’s wrath.

Is this life fair,
do I even care,
if I end this final affair,
with a single stare.

Is love the source,
of what I must endure,
I must be sure,
before I set my course.

A course to live,
a course to give,
to prove that I am worthy,
then to prove that I am not dirty.

Dirty of the lies,
as I stare into those eyes,
those pure and innocent eyes,
something that I do not despise.

I would sit down and cry,
before I tell another lie,
who do I defy,
even if I try.

I vow to give her a better life,
free of strife,
free of suffering,
to be my wife.
