Friends

Friends

A Poem by D. Mansfield

Lost another friend today,
Or maybe it s been a week
All her smiles, had started to fade.
She wasnt mine to keep

Lost so many over the years.
Too many to count them all.
But I can count, on just one hand,
The ones that I dropped the ball.

But this one was special,
She was special in every way.
But I just couldn't wait to end it.
Before it started to decay.

Sitting here thinking about her
On this beautiful spring night.
Oh my God I loved her,
But she didn't see the light.
