Things I'm not good at

Things I'm not good at

A Poem by Jimmy Crapped Corn

Things I'm not Good At

Never read the classics, didn't study in school,

Don't believe in witchcraft, I'm mediocre at playing pool.

Cut myself shaving, it seem, much too often.

My feet fall too heavily, even when I soften them.

Motors baffle me, I cant change my oil,

I can make spaghetti, while wearing a hat of foil.

I'm not a runner, don't belong to a bowling league.

All this time on my hands, my mind is under siege.

Paper cuts, find my fingers, I sometimes stretch the truth.

When my blood sugar drops, I eat a Baby Ruth.

Word games like scrabble, aren't my cup a tea,

I like being the little car when playing Monopoly.

Cant make things disappear, magic just isn't my bag.

Couldn't throw a curve ball, that the batter didn't tag.

Everyone's good at something, some are even great

I am not good at everything, but I do not show up late.

We got a few honest authors in the chat here, and if I can continue to be honest, I’m terrible at writing poetry. But I love this poem, and writing. So I’ll continue, but I hope you do as well. Everyone’s voice deserves to be heard.

We do sound the same. I make a tasty spaghetti too. But I still try to do things well. Hello my friend and I liked the dance of thoughts. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Thank you for the kind words I appreciate c you reading
A delightfully honest and relatable poem that captures the essence of everyday struggles and imperfections, with a touch of humor and humility. Its straightforward and conversational tone makes it easy to connect with, as well as reminding us that everyone has their own set of shortcomings and quirks and that this is okay to be less than perfect! 🙏🏻🕊👍🏻

Thank you for the kind words
I think you are in good company. There!s a whole lot of things I can’t do either, but one or two things that I manage ok. I am hopeless at anything technical, can’t open jars to save my life. Your poem did bring a smile, and I reckon you are selling yourself short. You can compose a decent poem, that’s for sure. I enjoyed my visit here.

I like being the little car, too! Love the game. Hate being the banker, though. Quite a list you've managed to put together here. I had to chuckle though, at the thought of wearing a hat of foil while making spaghetti! Thanks for the smile!
