Things I'm not good at

Things I'm not good at

A Poem by Jimmy Crapped Corn

Things I'm not Good At

Never read the classics, didn't study in school,

Don't believe in witchcraft, I'm mediocre at playing pool.

Cut myself shaving, it seem, much too often.

My feet fall too heavily, even when I soften them.

Motors baffle me, I cant change my oil,

I can make spaghetti, while wearing a hat of foil.

I'm not a runner, don't belong to a bowling league.

All this time on my hands, my mind is under siege.

Paper cuts, find my fingers, I sometimes stretch the truth.

When my blood sugar drops, I eat a Baby Ruth.

Word games like scrabble, aren't my cup a tea,

I like being the little car when playing Monopoly.

Cant make things disappear, magic just isn't my bag.

Couldn't throw a curve ball, that the batter didn't tag.

Everyone's good at something, some are even great

I am not good at everything, but I do not show up late.

It sounds like you're human. I smiled a few times while reading of your shortcomings and one success. (Making spaghetti) It says something good that a person can laugh at themselves. So many cannot, and that says something about them, too.

Thank you so much for stopping and reading I appreciate you.
this is a very sweet and self-reflexive work that has a touch of humour, making it a fun read. while one should be aware of one's short-comings, it should not define us. this work, which is full pignancy, is one that gives the reader time to look back on our un-achievements, with a smile. yet the final line allows us to radiate. we can't do a lot, but the small things we can do are also victories. and when i was in a mental heap, these small victories were all i had. and little bit little, by stacking up these points, i emerged from my haze. it's a delightful poem.
