Every Door is a Path

Every Door is a Path

A Poem by D. Mansfield

Navigating down lifes,

winding, tricky stairs,

They get steeper

and steeper,

and we start to despair.

A few more steps,

we arrive at ground level,

and laugh.

Because every door, has a door,

and thru every door, is a path.

I really like this... it’s simple but deep. The stairs feel like a great metaphor for life, and the ending gives a nice, hopeful twist. Lovely work.

This poem definitely gives hope, that there is a path ahead for every choice you make. The only thing that we fear is that we don't know what is behind that door! But we can only find out by experiencing it for ourselves.

It was a lovely poem, short and sweet. Keep writing!

Heyyyy Mansfield!!! What a positive poem (is how I take it). Life has its ups and down but in the end we do what we can with what we have. Thanks for this enlightening poem!!

Thank you for taking the time to read
I like how you left enough unsaid. The Japanese call that white space.

Thank you very much
Indeed! Beneath that ground level, life hides an underground car park and navigating life in that space is completely hellish!

I think this is a clever summation of the journey of life in general. We navigate its stairs through many winding pathways and through many doors and yet there is always more navigation to be endured. Trials and tribulations will always be encountered and yet our journey will keep continuing until we breathe our last.
An excellent little piece of philosophy, D.

thank you so much for the review
Is this a case of 'escape at last' or a bewilderment of where to go next? Your finely laid poem has found me unsure of how to respond, to be or not to.. understand you or compose my own response which is: a hint of mystery: look and should or might.. find.

'Navigating down lifes,
winding, tricky stairs,
They get steeper'

More than true.
