Poison

Poison

A Poem by D. Mansfield
"

Fiction

"
I'm a poisonous flower, some will kneel to smell,
Overcome quickly, by the poisonous fragrance I sell.
Outside, everything looks normal,
Inside, its full of rot.
Come quickly to me, I love you, or that is what you thought.

I think I love you, but dont know what that means,
That ends up hurting people, over and over it seems.
i stay in the back of the garden,Surrounded by weeds
Don't require alot of water, it's only sunlight, I need.

Don't come, to the back of the garden,
Unless it's poison you seek,
"I'm OK here alone",
Into your ear I speak.

The nightshade and hemlock need their space as well. Woody hemlock looks very much like Queen Anne's Lace, growing around property borders and many an unwary passerby has been poisoned by a mere touch of the flowers. Everything pretty is in disguise and some beauty is lethal.

Well done. Leave me alone or else. You keep your beauty and reject anyone who approaches you.

The metaphor here acts as a warning to the reader. Not all flowers are sweet smelling and some flowers should definitely not be picked, they are best left in their own surroundings. Nicely penned.

Thank you chris
This metaphor you use is quite vocal, looking regular on the outside, but feeling chaos and self distrust on the inside. Good work :)
