Force of nature

Force of nature

A Poem by D. Mansfield

Just Another snowstorm, out on the plains.
A force of nature, wind, and rain.
No one pays, any attention, to me,
If it's not right in front of them , they won't ever see.

Trees will fall,Power lines will fail, then i'm going to produce, tennis ball sized hail .
Just in time, for your drive to work
Yes i'm easily, that kind of jerk.

When you get home , you'll know what I took,
You now live in a house, without a roof.
The wind will howl, the rain will come,
The freeze will set in , then snow by the ton.

Then you'll know, what it feels like, to be cold
Trust me, when I say, you'll remember me, when you're old.

I feel such a strong allegory in this poem.
A mate comes and goes, leaving such devastation...we can barely recover from the damage to the heart.

A sharp little storm-voice of a poem...playful, rough, and full of that mischievous weather‑personality. It lands like a wink from the wind itself.
