She raised him to be a gentleman

Her sensitive son who sends my heart pounding.

I thought being away my feelings would lessen

But instead they intensified.

Its amazing the feeling I get around him

Calm curiosity that pushes my patience with him to the limit.

But

A sadness lingers in his eyes

And such a set dedicated look is plastered on his face.

I feel the difference in him

The escape to his music and games

His love for his dog is that for a companion who brings comfort.

She raised him to be a gentleman

And a good job she did.

He’s smart, funny and sensitive,

But this mess is wearing him down and tearing him apart.
