nick-names can cause a lot of pain, even when they are meant in good

"My little strawberry"

he calls me

the Spanish words sound scary

abrasive and unknown

but the English

pounds my heart against my ribs.

I wish i hadn't asked for the translation

leaving the words negative and feared

rather than wished for and hoped for.

hmm, its interesting, but i really think it could tell more. What was so haunting about the words/ Why would the subject prefer to be haunted? Yet still, its a very interesting and creative poem.
