Growing

I remember the days when I dreamt of the stars

And let balloons go to the Heavens for God

The simplicity of life and the innocence within me

The troubles I got myself into and the little things I achieved

How accomplished I felt when I ran and won 3rd place

When I swam in the big pool, the joy on my face

But as I grew older a void filled my heart

I needed someone who would care

I needed loving arms.

I needed the being of a man to love me

Yet the void wasn't filled, I was still incomplete

Until the day I stopped searching and you came into my life

Now the void is gone and I've found a love that's always new

A young child grew to a woman

That wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you.
