Winter (2006)

A Poem by drak

Assignment for AP english class. Crappy poem.

White flakes fall in the dead grieving moonlight

Sparkling water turns still in bitter air

Icicles glisten dangling at first sight

Rabbits tread through hard snow without a care

Trees become enshrouded in sugarcoat

Animals sleep within their dark cold den

Freezing wind whispers harshly down dry throats

Aroma of fresh frost appears again

Foliage is covered deep in powder snow

In the silent forest stirs mountain lion

Deer strip solid bark in midmorning’s glow

Chill down the spine until blood turns frozen

A yellow ray of sunlight warms the ice

Melting away white comes summer solstice
