If a Tree Falls (2003)

If a Tree Falls (2003)

A Poem by drak

Here I am
    Still and silent
    Awaiting my fate

Can you see me?
    Left alone to wither
    Tossed aside to decay
    Diminishing into the earth

If I fall
    Would you hear me?
    Would you make a sound?

The artwork displayed certainly helps with the tone of this piece.

We are very much like trees, in numbers and our impact in the world. I love the last lines in this bit, makes one think about personal demons and the people we hold dear.
