Climbing the Cumulous MountainsA Poem by drcorneliusOh how I’d like to walk upon the clouds way up in the sky I don’t think it’s been done before But still I would like to try Getting there is the easy part I can arrive without a care Just close my eyes and make a wish No need to pay a fare Ah the sights my eyes will behold As I take in that magical place Clouds in the shape of castles and horses One looks like an old woman’s face I can climb on the back of a galloping horse Ride along with the jet stream herd Cities and farms will pass below Little more than a colorful blur I can climb the cumulous mountains I can touch moon and stars from the top I can bathe in the gathering foggy mist Soon to be earth-borne raindrops Ah the fanciful freedom of floating Seductive although it may be Still can’t compare with this place I call home As I sit on this scaly branch High up in the sycamore tree © 2018 drcornelius |
