Inside

About a place I can go that is safe, and peaceful

Alone inside,

It's where I hide,

My fears of rejection,

A place of reflection,

 

I like it in here,

No one near,

It's just the right place,

To hide my sad face,

 

To keep all the tears,

And "not now my dears",

Your interest not needed,

Your critique not heeded,

 

I don't need validation,

I don't crave that sensation,

A slip now and then,

You remind me again,

 

Of the comfort inside,

Of the place I now hide,

When my silliness weeps,

And my loved one sleeps,

 

I'll stay for awhile,

I won't need a smile,

A face I won't miss,

In this sweet lonely bliss.
