Drag, me slowly

Drag, me slowly

A Poem by h d e rushin

I reread your short story
(this time without the obligatory sorrow)

the one where the crazy 8's  attacked
then overran the suburban folk.

And it is true, I was amazed by the smokiness,
of how the girl with the smudged makeup would love hard

then tenderly, without trying, whisper
with that low throaty quality about her.

Of how her sex was unlike any others; rich as snakeweed
with clustered yellow flower heads.

Where she goes thru SRS, the transformation to become a man
and tricks the town into making here fire chief.

And can I tell you of that masterful ending? Where he saves
the small boy from faithless heartache, then runs away with the farmers wife.

I liked that part too.

I don't know if the story actually exists, but whether imagined or re imagined this was beautifully composed d, each stanza collapsing onto the other, and rich and frothy with imagery my imagination ''Ran away from me'', fell hard for that ending, too.

Nicely done, brother...

gender might have this well written but of course it takes more then flesh fashion v line inspiration , or heart sleeves, and souled out shoes with pinky for cocked achievement to factorize the character witness of many acts to follow and hit home in the play hard to get fit in crowd...excellent

ah, we are a land in love with the good deed in uniform and all that jazz, but unerneath we are more in love with humanity in gesture, imperfection, and scandal- even if all we use it for is self-aggrandization. something to look down on. Running off with someone's wife or husband is not all it is cracked up to be- sometimes- but it is a hell of a lot more interesting than what most of us ever get around to doing.

and there is the whole hero complex thing... denied women, of course. I often wonder what would happen if we all wrote and switched around a bit.. you and me and Emily and kortas and Diego, Horizon and Corset... how many would notice, and how we ladies would stack up if gender were not an issue?

it would be so much fun, as Corset says, to pretend to have a penis for a day.

["here" should be "her" 4 lines from the top]

love you, my friend

I always wanted to wear one of those red caps and pretend I had a huge penis to pee on the suburban houses , but none of them were on fire, they all just stood there looking the same, manicured.
