Janus, the god of doors, doorways, passages and endings.

Janus, the god of doors, doorways, passages and endings.

A Poem by h d e rushin
"

for Caitlin Jenner

"

this morning a tiger got loose

in the window that I always watch from

and devoured the mail lady,

uniform and all.

some were disgusted.

some ran and hid, while

others stood on the

tops of their cars

in hopes that the tiger

would just go away. But

because it was a tiger,

it couldn't.

sometimes once things start, they can't be stopped...

there could be several references to the tiger here...and all that mail with no one to carry it now...

I feel a hint of broken communication here...and it is spreading...people running away from issues...hiding from them or just hoping they will pass on their own...
but we must get involved...catch the tiger and tame him...if we can.

thank you Marilyn 1225 for stopping by to visit me.....dana
Wow! This is very powerful. The tiger seemed to be symbolic for issues or problems that were trying to be avoided. Instead of staying and facing the problems or issues they tried to avoid them. This is very deep and I love how you can interpret it in different ways.

The God of beginnings and transitions is a powerful deity, impossible to deny, or hide from him what lies within;

impossible also to argue with the awesome brute power of the Tiger, who will always have his way.

Beccy.

A puzzle poem with a big punch! Enjoyed it. Will look again.

So it's the lady and the tiger in this case; I'm guessing the mail lady hoped for an easier passage. Part philosophy, part black comedy, this and that--which is what you expect from a two-headed god, I'd reckon.

thank you dear friend.....Both the Greeks and the Romans were pretty screwed up......lol dana
What a coincident, just yesterday while riding my bike in the park I heard a noise in the bushes and thistles on my left, and all of a sudden a deer charged cross my path just a mere 10 feet or so in front of me and fled into a corn field across the road. I stopped in amazement. I wondered, “What in the world chased him into my path.” AND...I didn't want to find out; I parted immediately...back in the opposite direction. (True Story) Poor mail lady.

Okay, this is cool. Gotta love tiger stories, from Blake on down to Kipling. Ever ride a tiger? Easy, except the dismount can be tricky.

Oh yeah, Jenner, Yeah that too.

Once the tiger is out its cage it's hard to get em back in. Let's hope this symbolic tiger doesn't get euthanized. Great write. CD
