Gosh, Dana,
I've missed you.
Ya know(?), the process of living life and learning can do a lot of things to us, make us so many things … some, we can't believe how amazing we can be … some, we are amazed at how we become things we never wanted to be or never would have, if left a choice.
Still, we have poetry, and in this infinite world we can make amends, create scenarios, and fly, disappear, or be the greatest lovers the world has ever known.
It all depends on how creative our imaginations are, oh-yeah, and on how adept we are at speaking in poetic voice.
Hugs to you, M'Dear Poetess … we need them sometimes, smiles, too, eh? ⁓ Richard : )
psst! how did we get to be "not" friends?

Preaching to the converted. Lots of non-artist/poets I know often assume that it's some great exhilarating vacation to be one. As if it's all beaches, sunshine and love - roses, wine and kisses...
But feeling deeply is the proverbial double edge sword. Hart Crane didn't jump off a cruise ship into the Pacific for nothing. Plath didn't stick her head in an oven to check the temp.
The journey is fraught with perils.
And in the end, it's not a hobby, job, profession, but a calling.
OK. Rant over!
Thanks for sharing this.

He thought it too effete, (his words) too looted of the glossy suggestions that reflect periodic powerlessness. (my words). As for jumping to his death, ever homosexual poet is a romantic visionary. I love your words here Alessander ....those about it being a calling. Perhaps it is/ dana
Being unable to articulate what boils and bubbles and blisters inside must cause only rage and resentment.
Perhaps poets think too much; but that is better than not thinking at all.
Beccy.

Which means that as adults they will grow to be functional illiterates. Perhaps we read too much to balance the world of those who don't read at all. We are all guilty of thinking too much, which in itself, is a falsehood of belief, since we also seem to be the most gullible and sentimental of folks. Thank you for having such a great mind.....dana
That last line. You're right. That's what I've been doing. Now that night has sat itself down, I'll be chewing on this until my next cheap bucket of balls.

For those of you who are friends with JohnsDavidburg on here; be aware of how he will spam all of your content and then make other profiles to stalk you if you block him, if you have anything even remotely critical to say about his work. He is extremely egotistical, arrogant, and has an eccentric and extreme sense of entitlement.

i'm actually smiling at this J.B. Thank you for stopping by to visit me./ dana
"ide" is not a stand alone word. Using the proper "i'd" makes using the word "had" after it redundant as the contraction itself already means "I had".

I saw such a thing in a James Bond movie (can't recall which one) almost 35 years ago. I mention this because towards the end of everything is the grammar that campaigns for anything. It happened because the Bond movie says it's possible, but I thank you JohnsDavidburg for any advice at all my friend. And I actually have a grammar book here on my desktop. In fact, i'm looking right at it.....love you....dana

yes, we have that license...and poems can go anywhere we want them to...and less scary than much else in life---
although a lot of my writing, when it is sad, creates worry in others...and they are afraid i am going to go from a bad place to a worse place.
