Maybe

Maybe I should try to stop figuring out the future.....

Maybe there's a meaning in the loss, 

a treasure to glean.

Maybe there is reason in the pain, 

strength to be gained, I don't know. 

Maybe it's not mine to know. 

Maybe this is a burden to bear, 

not be understood.  

Maybe I will understand years from now. 

Maybe this is a story to tell. 

Maybe the wounds will heal. 

Maybe this time will be easier. 

So many maybes, 

some maybes will come to pass, 

some maybes will pass on. 

Maybe it is just life, 

a wave that carries along, 

the good and the bad. 

maybe that's just how it is, 

just maybe.
