Afternoon tomfoolery

Afternoon tomfoolery

A Poem by Dave W.
"

What some curse can bless others

"

Rain wash over me

serenade and sooth

hypnotize

now heavy eyes

I'll not curse you

cleanse me as you do the air

I embrace the deluge symphony

drips on my glasses and soaked to the bone

"Do I want an umbrella?" someone asks

"No" smiling I reply

I will not be robbed of this sensory experience

splash and stomp

spin and twirl

nothing like the smell of ozone fragrant air

drenched I dance in new born pools

afternoon tomfoolery

tears lost in a multitude of drops.

As always you are welcome
this is a really sweet work, one that embraces aging but also the inner child. we have all played in the rain one time, and to go back to that carefree way is a dream unattainable to most. but the persona here has in his own way rediscovered the joy of living in the moment - come rain or shine.

... it's an absolutely optimistic and delightful read.

you have been rather prolific and i have been rather erratic with my reviewing. i'll try to find time to catch up on the readings. have a great day.

In raindrops, many emotions of the heart are hidden. ' cleanse me as you do the air. ' There's so much truth in this statement. Tears can certainly do that. My best to you, Dave.
