You linger

You linger

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Our loved ones will never really be gone....

"
I see your eyes in our daughter

your smile in our son

your presence lingers

gone but not forgotten

When I look into the mirror Dave. I see my father's face. My grandchildren faces make me thankful for the people who ensured I was alright. I do understand the poetry. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are most welcome
the simplicity of this verse is what really makes it work. it's straight-spoken and honest, a side that is often concealed from the world. in its delicacy, there is much beauty to be found in these lines. subtle yet powerful words.

Right on brother, exercise makes a person feel better and helps mental health.
I can so relate to this. For me it was my dad so the perspective is a little different. I see him in myself and my brother so the concept is still pretty identical. Sometimes I feel like he’s not even really gone because I know what he would say or do in a situation (and typically one of us ends up still doing whatever it is).
This was a beautiful tribute to someone lost and the depth of your love for them shines through.
