Victoria's Wisdom

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Inspired from a friend, nothing lasts and friends come and go.

"
Are you
the vapor
the smoke
the ice that melts
the clouds
or the mountains
how long do we have
are you here for the trip
or the next stop, your last
are you a foundation of sand
or granite that holds

are you flesh and blood
or just words on a page
are you a passing fad
or a truth that stands
time will tell your story
maybe an epic
or a saga
or a paragraph
or a sentence
or even just a word
"Fin".

Very nicely written Dave. Makes me reflect on some of the women that have passed through my life. I had two best friends who I guess were “paragraphs” measured against the totality of my life. They did not leave of their own free will, cancer took them both way too young. We never know how long we have. I still mourn the loss.

Thank you so much for the kind words
Fine but melancholic words, Dave. Specifically said, but, perhaps remedial? Tis sad...
