Why must I learn

to let go

to let go

to........let.........go

 

people pass by

 as vapors in the wind

 

time flows as sand through fingers

each grain a memory

sandcastles stand

against the ocean’s mercy

 

why must I learn

I have loved

and cried

and hated

and sorrowed  

beautiful faces fade

sweet scents stolen away

I like the use of metaphors in this poem. Very powerful and evocative.

Each grain a memory'

This makes me think of the paradox of life. Everything fades but we are left with memories. It's very hard to come to terms with this. Time flowing as sand through fingers attests to this fact of life. You can't stop flow and time. But imprints are left. Even in the tiniest grain. There is meaning. It's a call that only the present matters. Only the present is real. This is my understanding.

Sooner or later we all lose...Oh I hate to say death but you just had your grief earlier than most.

My fiance died in a fire. We talked online for ten years waiting until his kids were grown up enough for him to leave.

We never got a chance to touch. I'm sorry for making it about me. But we all lose one way or another.

Open your heart. Love will find you. You'll know when it's right. The poetry is absolutely beautiful, as always.

Im really sorry for your loss, I lament when I lose friends and I had two friends say they were leaving social media, I really liked talking with them, I was just really sad.

That's nice of you. Losing friends is hard. ER would say, "People come and go. True friends stay a lifetime." Maybe ask for a web site they belong to?
