Just another night

Longing for ghosts and shadows on the wall.....

 

Just a bit higher

to touch the clouds

 

just a little farther

to feel the rainbow

 

another mile

to reach the mirage

 

I dreamt of her again

it was so real this time

 

every fiber of my being believed

in what I was seeing

 

now there is pain in my heart

now there are tears in my eyes

 

to love a shadow that doesn't love back

is to fatigue the soul

 

maybe another night spent

in a mind’s eye paradise

will relieve the longing ache

I feel inside

There is beauty in the pain of her. You begin by singing of almost getting to the touch the clouds, to feel the rainbow, to reach the mirage.
Your subconscious wants to reach her. Even though you know it includes pain.
Nowhere are you saying "Stop. This is enough."
You want the experience of being with her. Dave W. Enjoy her. Enjoy the anticipation, the tears and everything that goes along with your "mirage". Even the ones lost in the desert chase the mirage to quench their thirst. It's okay. You are thirsting for her as well. Enjoy.

Beautiful reveiw, I am learning to admire from afar, to want to reach a rainbow and weep when I never get there is a fools errand, I am learning to be content with the little I get even if just reading words, I tell my heart that some things are never meant to be.
