Buffet

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Lets us devour eachother until there is nothing left....

"
Is there purity in this
this moment of thought
this moment of sight

what do you see
will you devour it
will you fulfill your appetite's desire
are they what you hunger for

are you eating to destroy something beautiful
like locusts through lavender fields

innocence lost
jaded eyes from
a world of deceptive lies

after you finish
what's left
where is the beautiful thing
that caught your sight

My God look
open your eyes
those eyes blinded
by wanton longing

those hungers that drown out
the humanity of others

is love as base
as a meal eaten by pigs

where is the connection
where is the value in another
where is the heart
where is the soul

truly romance is dead
and love is the zombie
of yearning unchecked….

I agree with Dessi...favorite line is that one.
Romance really does seem dead. There is still all the physical, but the emotional part of relationships seemed to have died with our high school days...I remember when holding hands was a big deal.
Not so much now.

I feel just horrible. Remember when you asked me about my having two accounts and I explained I had lost the password but remembered it after I created the second account.
I try to stop and I don't sext anymore but my writing is carnal. How do you abstain?
I am a Christian but which disciple said, "I try NOT to sin but I sin even more."

The apostle Paul, in Romans 7:15-25, describes the internal struggle between his desire to do good and the reality of his sinful nature.
The passage can be broken down as follows:
Paul expresses his frustration with this inner conflict: "For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing". (I know I said I'd stay away but I am drawn to you so much. Maybe you'll save me.) From myself, lol. Your writings are awesome.

Don't fret, my friend, love is alive and well and doing just fine as always. But like false reports of celebrity deaths before their occurrence rumors are myriad and there are more imposters of love than Elvis impersonators in Vegas. This is kind of a sour grapes write. Love doesn't see with the eyes. Love sees with the heart and soul.

I take back everything I said before.
It IS just like you said, "as a meal eaten by pigs."
I feel just horrible.

Your poem is powerful. Thanks, friend.

David, Hi. "LIke locusts through lavender fields"..wow.
.
I get caught up in the craziness sometimes and have to remind myself THIS IS FANTASY.

This is all for FUN, love... Just enjoy it and remember you are made with certain needs.

You need oxygen but even chimps deteriorate without TOUCH. THESE DAYS are kind of scary so I guess this is our way of filling needs. I think it's pretty harmless. HOWEVER, follow YOUR OWN heart, love.

This is a brilliant work. Everytime I look at it, I see another whole BOOK. ..Thanks for sharing, friend.
PS ..We use the word LOVE as easily as blinking. IF it is LOVE you are hoping to find? Make it known UP FRONT when you talk-text. You have found love in me. I love you as a wonderful poet, writer, friend. But I love the "single" life. Yes, I like carnal stuff to a point. HOWEVER, I am careful. Have a great day... ONE MORE THING: DAVID & BATHSHEBA...David was a man after God's own heart. He was not perfect. However, God KNOWS because he made us, Dave W....I NEVER MEET ANYBODY IN REAL LIFE. Just be careful.
