Come alive

Come alive

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Time to get out of the mully grubs

"

Come alive ye dead and dying, from the shores of Styx,

ye wonderers of yester year, shambling cadavers,

come alive ye starved of hope, vagabonds of depressions valley,

aimless tramps of regret,

come alive ye gluttons of self-deprecation, those who only see an enemy’s reflection,

out of the mire and into life, come with me into joy's bosom,

this lens of gloom you use has kept you long enough,

light O light guide the way,

see a vision with me of a valley of life, green flowing hills and crystal springs,

leave the death you have learned to love,

leave the stagnation of remorse you're in,

leave the rotting corpse of the mistake’s made,

you are not the labels given,

you are not the words they use,

you are not your parents,

you are only you,

beautiful through and through,

so arise in life, in love be renewed.

The mully grubs? Yes! I researched it! Also, I found this, David, I have decided to refrain from commenting unless it is relevant. That way, I'm less likely to spiral. Ok, check THIS out!
In Greek mythology, the shores of Styx are the banks of the river that separates the world of the living from the Underworld. Charon, the ferryman, transported the deceased across the Styx, but only after they had paid a coin (the Charon's Obol). Those who couldn't pay or had not received proper funeral rites were said to wander the shores for 100 years before being allowed passage.
*I love the line about leaving behind the rotting corpse of the mistakes we've (I've) made. AND the following lines gave me courage to post this especially after I've been such trouble to you...Loving these new postings!

What such an encouraging piece, Dave.
What I like best of all, though (and I don't mean to minimise the words, OK?),.. I like the larger font. Lol. Seriously! I visit the site solely by phone (because, that what I have) and everything is quite reduced in format, and compressed.
So it's a genuine thank you for your formatting in larger font, doubled with your positivity. ✌️
