Spirit of adventure

Spirit of adventure

A Poem by Dave W.
"

"The world is not in your books and maps, it's out there," - Gandalf the Gray

"

Truely distant lands call

sirens sing of glory over yonder

spoken mythologies beckon hungry feet

no longer contented with familar trees and emerald knolls

the void of mystery smiles

unknown perils

unfound pleasures

excitement

detriment

adventure's hand is outstretched

imagination captured by beasts of the deep

no longer a passive body listening to tales

but one that now tells the stories that live on in time and memorial

Oh that stagnation of life be far and away

let the winds of the east greet a longing soul

let the spices of foreign realms delight the senses

let the constellations speak truths of the past.
