Muse come back

Muse come back

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Sometimes I write about not being able to write

"
I looked for you again,
within the realm
of hearts broken,
amongst the lonesome
halls of isolation.

I sought for you
in dawns light,
into the void of day
amongst creatures of night,
but you were not found.

Oh Muse you're
a fickle lover,
one moment you
quicken and inspire,
the next silence as
I pleadingly desire,

A touch,
an insight,
a flash of genius,
the first line?

Maybe something of
the human experience,
of the trials of life,
something that connects to another
born of despair and strife.

Muse please don't leave,
Muse just one more,
Muse grant my plea,
Muse have the floor,

For you are my love,
and on page we dance,
with me in my chair,
waiting for gnostic trance

Ah, when our ever motivating muse decides to make us give chase! Great write.

I know the feeling of searching for that "fickle" muse!
Perhaps we are different in that I am one of six sisters!
So I always have a muse!
Sure, some are "fickle" but we take what we can get.
Thanks for sharing this honest and heartfelt write.
Looking forward to reading more!

Thankyou very much, I write with longing so most of the time thats what comes through.
I like how this poem captures the ache of waiting for inspiration. It feels intimate and raw. I feel the longing in every line. The Muse is indeed like a fickle lover. It’s heartfelt and relatable.
