Vibrations

Vibrations

A Poem by Dave W.
"

Just thought to write about sounds.......

"
Discordant chords
grate on last nerves,
fine enamel ground to dust,
the off switch a must.

Rattled clanking,
cacophony of confusion.

There will be no sleeping this night,
as moody neighbors fight.

Torrential sounds
pour into my ears,
I strain to hear
my own self think.

Out of tune,
disjointed orchestral noise,
it wont stop,
as a fork in a garbage disposal unit,
eardrums are the victim,

Late into the night
cats serenade
by pale moon light.

A dog keeps the house safe
from passers by
via yaps of loud protest.

Oh how I envy the deaf,
ignorant of a world full of
tempestuous vibrations.....

The poem feels claustrophobic, almost suffocating. It’s not just about noise-it’s about the impossibility of peace in a world that won’t quiet down. I enjoyed this.

I've felt that same way, Dave.
Sleep deprivation can make the mild into a monster.
My mattress sagged and I was ready to chop off the kitchen table top, lol. Truth.
Your poems always inspire. Thanks.

Fine. I get that. But being hearing deprived is no joke.
