My Light

This is dedicated to Randi, Jessie, and David. Free verse.

A mother doesn't have to be your real one,
She can be someone you look up to,
Someone that you can tell anything to,
She doesn't have to be blood related,
She can be someone that is just your friend,
A mother's love is never forgotten,
Never blue,
Always true,
I will always love you with all my heart,
Never forgot this,
You are my light,
The thing that keeps me happy,
You make me smile more than anyone,
I will always be there when you need me,
I love you all so much,
I don't mind that we aren't blood,
But we all should be,
I love all of you,
All my loves,
My lights,
You all keep me happy.

I love free verse, its my favorite because it doesn't have to be in a specific form, you can kind of just tell a story. I like this because there are many people without a mother or father and feel that they will never have one but truth is anyone can be that for you if you find the right person willing to be there for you in that way. So I really enjoyed reading your poem
