Love in Their Hearts Episode 2A Screenplay by Angie Diane♥♥Episode 2Love in Their Hearts Episode 2 Miscarriage Narrator: Amy and Johnny went into their classes. Johnny went to science and Amy went to algebra. Carolina was at home with her husband. Adam: Honey, are you okay? Carolina: No, my stomach hurts badly. Adam: Does it feel the baby is kicking? Carolina: No. Adam: Okay. Carolina: Ow this hurts badly. Adam: Honey, maybe you should go to the doctor. Carolina: Yes, to check on the baby. Adam: Yes, let's get you ready. Carolina: Okay. Narrator: Amy and Johnny met up for second period. They had that class together. That class went by quickly. Third period they were in the same class together. That class always went by quickly for them. Fourth period goes to chorus. Mr. Nelson: Hi Amy, how are you? Amy: I'm great and you? Mr. Nelson: I'm good. Amy: Can't wait to see what we are singing. Mr. Nelson: Of course. Narrator: Amy walked in and looked at the board. She saw the song they were singing. They were singing "Before He Cheats" today. That was one of her favorite songs. She smiled at herself. She sat down in her usual chair. Her friend Lindsey came into the class. Lindsey: Hey Amy, how are you? Amy: I'm great and you? Lindsey: I'm good. How's your mother doing? Amy: She's good she found out the sex of the baby. Lindsey: What is she having? Amy: She is having a boy. Lindsey: Do you know what she's going to name the baby? Amy: Not yet. I want her to name him Calvin. Lindsey: That's a nice name. Mr. Nelson: Time to warm up. Narrator: Everyone stood up on the bleacher. They warmed up and sat down and did key signature. Then they did the whole song to "Before He Cheats." She went down to the lunch after that. Carolina and Adam were on the way to the doctor. Adam pulled up into the parking lot. Adam: Honey let's get into the office. Carolina: Yes. Narrator: They went into the doctor's office. They office wasn't busy so the doctor talked to them right away. Doctor: Hello. Adam: Hi. Doctor: We have to take some tests. Carolina: Okay. Narrator: They took a few tests on Carolina. Amy went down to the lunch room. She met up with Johnny. Johnny: Hey sweetie. Adam: Hey. Johnny: How was chorus? Amy: Great. Johnny: What song did you sing? Amy: Before He Cheats. Johnny: Oh your favorite. Amy: Yup well I'm going to get lunch now. Johnny: Great. Can you get me a water bottle? Amy: Sure. Narrator: She gets a chicken patty and water. She walks over to Johnny and hands him the water. Johnny: Thanks. Amy: Are you okay today? Johnny: Yes, I'm just thinking. Amy: About yesterday? Johnny: Yes, about yesterday. Amy: Oh that's a good thing that your parents are going to talk to you today. Johnny: I agree with you, Amy. I just think they don't want to lose me. Amy: That's probably it. They still love you no matter what. Johnny: You are right. Amy: That's a good thing. Johnny: Well let's get going. Amy: Yeah. Narrator: The bell rang and they exited the lunch room. Carolina and Adam were in the office and the doctor came into the room. Doctor: I'm sorry to tell you this. Carolina: What is it, doctor? Doctor: You lost the baby. You had a miscarriage. Adam: Oh my. Carolina: I lost the baby. Adam: Honey. Carolina: No!! Adam: Honey calm down. Narrator: Carolina was screaming at the top of her lungs crying. Johnny and Amy were going through the rest of the school day until school was over. Amy: Hey are you ready to go? Johnny: Yeah. Amy: Alright let's go to my house first. Johnny: Then over to my house. Narrator: Ten minutes later they got to Amy's house. Johnny went inside the house with Amy. Amy: Hello is anyone home? Johnny: Doesn't seem like anyone is home, Amy? Amy: Yeah, that's weird. Johnny: Isn't your mother usually home? Amy: Yes and my Dad had off today. Johnny: Oh that's weird. Amy: Yes, well let's go over to your house. Johnny: Are you sure you want to come? Amy: Yes, I want to be there for you. Johnny: Alright let's get going. Narrator: They left the house and Adam was driving home. Adam: Honey, are you going to be okay? Carolina: No, I just lost the baby we made together. Adam: Honey, we could always try for another child. Carolina: I don't want to try for another child. Adam: Honey we are going to have to get over the fact the baby died. Carolina: I am never getting over losing a child, honey. Adam: I understand your judgment, but honey we need to get through our marriage. We want another child. We've wanted that for a long time. Carolina: Yes, but I lost this child. Adam: We could always try again. Carolina: Your right, but I'm afraid I'm going to lose another baby. Adam: Honey, we never know. Carolina: Yeah. Narrator: Johnny and Amy up into the driveway. Johnny and Amy walked out of the car and up the steps. Kevin opened the door for his son and his son's girlfriend. Kevin: Hello Johnny. Hello Amy. Amy: Hi Mr. Russell. Kevin: Please come in. Emily: Hello son. Johnny (shyly): Hi. Kevin: Listen son we are sorry that we are ignoring you. Emily: We really want you to come home. Kevin: Please take that into consideration. Johnny: Why would I take that into consideration? Amy: Johnny, it's because your parents want you in their life. Kevin: Yes, for after all the times we ignored you. We want you to know although we ignored you kicked you out we love you. Johnny: Why should I believe that? Emily: We are your parents. You should always believe your parents. Amy: Your mother is right you know. Johnny: Amy, stay out of this it has nothing to do with you. Kevin: That's not a very nice to say to your girlfriend. She is just trying to help you. Johnny: I'll talk to her anyway I want, Dad. Narrator: Amy walks over to Johnny and smacks him in the face. Johnny: I'm sorry, Amy. Amy: Whatever, Johnny. Johnny: You can tell I'm mad. Amy: No wonder you are being a jerk. Johnny: I promise I won't talk to you however I want. Amy: Alright I have to go home. Johnny: Alright in a second. I'm sorry Dad, but I have to go. I'll come back in a little while okay? Kevin: Okay. Narrator: Johnny and Amy walked out to Johnny's car. They got in and Johnny drove away. Amy was thinking and Johnny was listening to the radio. They weren't speaking an Johnny looked over at Amy. Johnny: Are you mad at me? Amy: No, I'm not. Johnny: Okay thank you. Amy: I'm sorry you were pissed. Johnny: It's just my parent were now being nice to me when they should have done that a long time ago. Amy: I understand. Johnny (sighs): You always understand. Narrator: They got out of the car and walked into the house. Carolina and Adam were home. Amy was relieved that her parents were home. Amy: Mom, Dad, I'm home. Adam: Hey sweetie. Amy: Where is Mom? Adam: In the room you should go talk to her. Amy: Why, Daddy? Adam: Something bad happened and she needs you. Amy: Okay. Narrator: Amy walked up to her parent's bedroom. She knocked on the door. Her mother didn't respond. She walked into the room. Her mother was crying. Amy: Mommy, what's wrong? Carolina: I lost the baby. You aren't having a little brother anymore. Amy: Oh Mommy, its okay. I mean you can always try for another. Carolina (yelling): I don't want to try for another one! Amy: Mom, calm down please. Carolina (still yelling): I am calm! Amy: No, you're not. Carolina: You don't understand, Amy. Amy: Yes, I do. Carolina: You do not understand what it feels like to lose a baby. Narrator: Amy went silent for a moment. Amy: You're right I don't. Narrator: Tears welled up in her eyes and she ran put of the room. Johnny followed her out and she wouldn't slow down. He caught up to her and jumped on her back. He was sitting on her back. He rolled her over until he was on sitting on top of her stomach. Johnny: Its okay, Amy. Amy: It's not okay. Johnny: I know what happened. Amy: I didn't know I was going to lose my brother. Johnny: No one knew you were. Amy: Johnny, I want a little brother so bad. Johnny: I know. Amy: I think if we get married we will have one or two children. Johnny (scared): Let's not think of marriage yet. Amy: Okay. Johnny: Let's go back to your house. Amy: No. Johnny: Do you want to go to mine? Amy: Yes. Narrator: Johnny got off of Amy and helped her up. They walked to Johnny's house. Johnny: I'm back. Amy: I'm with him. Kevin: Are you okay, Amy? Amy: Yes, why? Kevin: Your eyes are red. Amy: Oh my Mom told me something that made me cry. Kevin: Oh what happened? Amy: My Mom lost the baby. Kevin: I'm sorry. Are you going to go home? Amy: No. Johnny: Amy, you have to go home. Amy: No, I don't. Narrator: Amy dragged Johnny up to his room. She lay on the bed pulling Johnny on her. He was laying on her and she kissed him. After they kissed he sat up and sat on her stomach again. He pinned her arms against the bed. Johnny: Amy, you have to go home and you know it. Amy: I don't want to go home. Johnny: Amy, please your parents need you. Amy: They don't need me. Johnny: Yes, they do. Amy: No. Johnny: Yes. Amy: No. Narrator: Johnny let go of Amy's arms and slapped her in the face. Her eyes filled up with tears. Johnny got off of Amy and paced around the room. Johnny: Your parents need you. Amy (crying): Why did you hit me? Johnny: To knock some sense into you. Amy: I'm still not going home. Johnny: Oh yes you are. Amy: Make me. Johnny: Fine I will. Narrator: Johnny grabbed Amy and slung her over his shoulder. He walked out of the house back to Amy's. Amy: Put me down. Johnny: No. Narrator: Johnny got back to Amy's house. He brought her up to her room. He put her on the bed and pinned her down by sitting on her again. Johnny: Now you can't leave your house unless you get from underneath me. Amy: Let me up. Johnny: No. Amy: Please. Johnny: No, you might run away. Amy: I won't I promise. Narrator: Adam walked into the room to see Johnny sitting on Amy. Adam: What is going on in here? Johnny: Oh I'm trying to keep Amy from leaving the house. Adam: Good stay on her then. Amy: Dad. Adam: He can stay on you if you are going to try to run away. Amy: I won't run away. Please Johnny. Johnny: Fine. Narrator: Johnny got off of Amy and sat next to her. She didn't run like she said she wouldn't. Adam walked down the hall. Adam: Amy is home. Carolina: Good can you tell her to come here. Adam: Okay. Narrator: Adam went back to his daughter's room. Adam: Your mother would like to speak to you. Amy: I am not going. Adam: She's your mother you need to speak to her. Amy: I do not need to speak to her. Get out! Adam (sighs): Please Amy, she really needs to talk to you. Amy (voice rising): I do not want to talk to her. Adam: Please. Amy: No! Adam: Okay. Amy: Now get out! Narrator: Adam walks out of his daughter's room. Adam: She isn't going to talk to you. Carolina: Oh yes she is. Adam: How are you going to make her? Carolina: I have my ways. Adam: Don't even go into her room. Carolina: You can not tell me what to do with our child. Adam: I don't want her to yell again. I need to go to bed. Carolina: I know. Adam: Please do not go in their. Carolina: Fine I won't. Adam: Thank you. Narrator: Johnny and Amy were talking in the other room. Amy was pacing around the room. Johnny: Why won't you talk to your Mom? Amy: Johnny, I don't want to face her right now. Johnny: You know it's okay to be upset. It's not okay that you are isolating yourself from her. I think your Mom needs you. Amy: I don't think she needs anyone. She can deal with it herself. She used to have to when she was abused as a child and teenager. Johnny: Good thing you aren't abused though right? Amy: I know she doesn't abuse me. Johnny: Do you think she will start? Amy: I don't know. Johnny: I know you will run out if you do. Amy: I know I will and you will probably follow me out. Johnny: You're right I wouldn't let you deal with that alone. Amy: I know. Johnny: Why was she abused? Amy: Her mother was a drunk and she beat the crap out of her when she was growing up. Johnny: That stinks. Amy: You must be glad your mother or father beats you. Johnny: I am I don't know what I would do. Amy: Would you run or would you come to me? Johnny: I'd probably come to you. Amy: You can always believe that I will help you. Johnny: I do. I'm going to go downstairs to get some sleep. Amy: Alright it is going to be one. Johnny: Yes, I'm tired from school. I'm glad it isn't a school night. Amy: Me too well good night. Narrator: Johnny went downstairs and Carolina went into Amy's room without Adam knowing. Adam was sleeping in their bedroom. Amy turned around and saw her mother come in the room. Amy: What do you want? Carolina: I need to talk to you. Amy: I don't want to talk to you. Carolina: Well you are going to. Amy: I don't want to talk about what happened. Carolina: Honey, please. Amy: No and that is final. Narrator: Her mother raised her fist and she stroke Amy with all her might. Amy had tears running down her face. She ran down the stairs and outside. Johnny was fast asleep on the couch and did not hear the door slam. Adam woke up for a glass of water and he found that his wife was not in the bed. He got up and found her in Amy's room. Adam: What are you doing? Carolina: I tried to talk to Amy calmly. Adam: Where is she? Carolina: She ran out of the house. Adam: What?! Carolina: I hit her. Adam: You did what? Carolina: I hit her. Adam: Why? Carolina: All the anger that was coming out made me hit her. Adam: What if she doesn't come back? Did you think of that? Carolina: I didn't know I was going to hit her, Adam. Adam: You are just like your mother except you don't drink. Carolina: I am not like my Mother. Adam: You just hit your child really hard. Carolina: I didn't mean to do it. Adam: I don't believe you. Carolina: Please believe me. Adam: Where is Johnny? Carolina: I don't know. Adam: He might be downstairs then. Carolina: Okay. Adam: We have to go find our little girl after your mistake of hitting her because of your anger. Next Episode of: Love in Their Hearts Johnny: Where is Amy? Adam: She is gone Johnny.
