I give up,
On loving you,
Because when I try to love you,
You push me away,
You tell me not to love you,
Because you know you will end up hurting me eventually.

I give up,
On caring about you,
You always tell me not to,
Because you don't care about me,
Though you say you will care eventually.

I give up,
On trying to make you smile,
Because you never take me seriously,
When you smile it is only because you think something is funny,
Which makes me feel like crap,
Because I try to get you to smile like that.

I give up,
On myself,
Because of you,
Because you keep putting me down,
Saying you don't love me,
When you know you actually do,
You make me feel so insecure,
Like I don't know what I'm talking about,
Or you try to get me to laugh,
When you won't let me do that for you,
You try to get me to do a lot of things,
But I give up,
Because you won't let me do those things for you.
