The Wall

The Wall

A Poem by Angie Diane♥♥

In the past,
I have built a wall around me,
So no one could break through it,
Get into my comfort zone,
Still today the wall is around me,
And no one has been able to break it,
It continues to get deeper as the years go by,
And it seems that the wall gets bigger and bigger,
To lock everybody out,
So no one could get through to me,
So I can face the pain alone,
The wall keeps me from opening up,
To the people who I love,
So they can never know what's on my mind,
The wall surrounding me,
Keeps me safe,
From everyone that tries to come near me,
Even the people I love.
I need someone to break the wall that is around me.
Then I will probably feel the happier than I have been,
In the past,
I have built a wall around me,
And it still remains.

I know this feeling. There are times that the walls are so extensive that it is as if I walk in a maze. I can hear the outsiders searching for that which is within, yet it's hard to take the first step and climb upon the walls top and find a way to put the walls permenantly into the past.

I loved the flow and feelings that permiate in this piece of ink. Thanks for sharing!
