Chains

Chains

A Poem by Angie Diane♥♥

I'm locked up,
In chains,
And I can't see a way,
To get away from them,
In the chains,
I will remain,
Until I find a way out of them.
The chains resemble,
My torture,
My pain,
Everything that keeps me from achieving what I want,
I feel the chains holding me back,
Keeping me put,
I try to run,
But they won't break,
They are refraining me from moving,
I can't breathe now,
But when I can,
I will try to find a way to break these chains.

The theme of freedom and self revelation is commonly used in many poems, but yours seems to stand out from the pack. I like your idividuality and how the chains stand for every setback in your life. Other poems dont make that so obvious. They keep you guessing. This one is short, sweet, and to the point. Thank you for sharing, a great read!
