Pretend

You pretend to be something,

You are not,

I know how you really are,

But you just pretend,

Because you want to throw,

Yourself away,

Like you are piece of garbage,

Don't pretend to be something you are not.

You are a lot better than what you think you are,

So stop pretending,

And be yourself.

While for the most part I agree with your poem. There are those people that the world they create for themselves in fantasy is the only place they can find some semblence of sanity, for the real world is really messed up for them.
Then there are those that create forced split personalities in order to cope with their emotional variances. I know several people like that. It's the only way they keep from going off the deep end.
While it would be nice to think that everyone could exist within harmony of themselves. In reality.. that harmony can breed it's own form of disharmony.
