Unforgiven

I was planning on forgiving you,
But you ruined that chance again.
I was so close to being friends with you again,
But you destroyed that chance.

You were a good friend,
Before this happened.
But now that I think about it,
It would have been stupid to forgive you.

Now I'm just not going to forgive you,
Because you caused me pain,
You caused me heartache,
And I know you aren't sorry.

When you apologized,
You didn't really sound sincere,
But I forgave you anyway,
Back then.

But now I feel like,
A jerk because we were close,
But now we aren't even talking,
Because of something that happened.

I cried in pain,
When you did what you did,
But I didn't block you,
Because I didn't want to be mean.

I wasn't going to get you back,
Or even curse at you,
For what you did,
But now you are not forgiven.

That just took the cake,
Forgiving you would be stupid,
Because you could do this,
A second time.

I don't want to go through,
All this pain again,
Because I don't want to feel,
Like I am completely hopeless.

I wanted to rebuild this friendship,
But now I can't,
Because of the pain,
You put me through.

So all I really,
Have to say,
To you is,
You're unforgiven.

Wow. Thats...wow. I understand the emotional conflict of "should I? shouldn't I?" Its a killer on the heart and brings nothing but sadness. I'm glad you found inner courage to make the choice you felt was right. Great work!

Just two words - short and sweet - but at the same time, so damn powerful. Wow!! I really can relate to this. I've been through it, and it's tough, but you're right... sometimes, people don't deserve forgiveness. Not when you can clearly see that they're not really sorry at all.

Great poem, and you are very right sometimes you just have to put your foot down because forgiving in certain situations would be stupid.
