Chapter 3

“Come on, Tim; stop scaring the poor little girl.” Some guy said carrying a bowl with food in with him.

“You never let me have any fun.” Tim said sighing. He just stalked off toward the door with a smirk on his face. It was that same stupid smirk that I can’t stand. He left the room leaving me with the new stranger that walked in.

“I’m sorry about him. I know he can be a real jerk. Oh my God, are you okay? Did Tim hurt you?” He asked examining my cheek. My head was still pounding, but I didn’t know if I could trust this guy just yet. The guy that had just come in had a gentle looking face and his eyes were light blue with a black ring around it. That defined his eye color a little bit more. He had dark brown hair and he had a smile on his face. He put the food down in front of me because I was guessing he wanted me to eat.

“I’m okay, but my head hurts a little. I was thrown into the wall.” I explained. He just sighed.

I did have a fear of him because I didn’t know if he was like him. I didn’t want to get slammed in the wall, but this guy did seem a little gentler. I started to notice that his smile was nice looking for someone who had just kidnapped me.

“W-who are you?” I asked starting to shake.

“My name is Alex. You don’t have to be scared I won’t hurt you. Do you want some ice for your head? I know it must hurt. Do you want some Advil too?” He said getting up and going to the door. I shook my head yes. He came back a few minutes later.

“Thank you.” I put the ice on my head and it started to feel a little bit better.

“I would like to know your name. I know nothing about you. All the guys told me that they were going to kidnap a girl who was rich and her parents would pay a lot of money for.”

“My name is Angela...I just really want to get out of here. I can’t be in here.” I said freaking out. I always had claustrophobia.

Alex grabbed me and tried to calm me down. He wasn’t really that aggressive or anything.

“Its okay, Angela, you can calm down. I wasn’t really in on this whole plan. They just told me that we were going to have company. I just said okay and then walked away.  They knew I didn’t want to do this to anyone. I feel terrible for what they had done.” Alex said with a frown on his face.

“Can you really be trusted?” I asked this Alex guy.  He just gave me a surprised look.

“I don’t want to cause you harm or use you if that’s what you mean.” He said.

I looked inside the food bowl and the food looked good, but I didn’t trust it. Alex could have put something in the food. He could have drugged the food so one of the other guys could do things to me while I was asleep. I wasn’t going to have that.

                “I don’t know…” I said trailing off.

“I’m serious about that. Are you going to eat?” He asked me.

“No, I don’t want anything.” I could hear my stomach growling at the smell of the food. I didn’t want Alex to know that so I tried to hide it as much as I could. He didn’t seem to believe me.

“Please eat. I don’t want you to starve. I promise you I didn’t put anything in it.”

“How did this guy know what I was thinking?” I thought.

“I promise you because I am not that type of person. Can you please just trust me a little bit?” Alex said.

“Why should I trust you?” I asked. I didn’t have any reason to trust anyone in this place. They took me from my home in the middle of the night. Tim assaulted me and now I have a headache.

“I am not like them, Angela. I truly am not.” He said frowning a little bit.

I had an urge to smack this guy. I didn’t really think it was a good idea though because he seemed to be a thug as well…since he hung around with thugs. I still didn’t trust him even though he was being extremely nice.
