You Will Never Be Alone.

Inspired by..You Are Not Alone by Michael Jackson. :)

Another day has gone,

I’m still all alone.

                She sat there by the window, waiting for her love to return home to her, and she was excited. He had been gone for some time because he had an important job to do out of town. It has been a month since she had last seen him. That month was filled with loneliness, a longing for him to return. The only disappointment that she had was that it was a rainy day.  She watched the rain gently splash on the window.  

How could this be?

You’re not here with me.

                “I can’t believe it’s been a month since he’s been away. My heart is breaking into two because I haven’t heard his voice in so long. I truly miss him dearly.” She thought to herself as she hummed a tune that was in her head. But what was the song that she was hearing?

You never said goodbye,

Someone tell me why,

Did you have to go?

And leave my world so cold.

                She thought about the night he left, but was she even there when he did? Did she even get to talk to him? Or did he just leave a letter telling her that he had to go. He didn’t know how long he had to be gone…she thought about it. Seeing that letter saying he was going to be gone. She didn’t get to say goodbye in person.

                “Why couldn’t you have said goodbye in person? Why did you just have to leave a letter? Is my love just not that important to you? Why did you have to go and leave my world so cold?” She thought more. She’s heard that line from somewhere, but where?

Every day I sit and ask myself,

How did love slip away?

Something whispers in my ear and says,

You are not alone.

                She heard her cell phone go off and she was excited because she thought she knew who it was. She was wrong…it was her mother calling. She answered the phone with disappointment. She loved her mother, but she wanted it to be him. She thought that it was the one that went away because he had to…without a goodbye.

                “Hello mother.”

                “Hello dear, you don’t sound so happy to hear from me.”

                “I am happy to hear from you mother. I just thought it was him.”

                “Honey, just remember this. His love hasn’t slipped away. You are not alone. And you never will be. Just always remember this for me.” Her mother said.

I am here with you,

Though you’re far away,

I am here to stay,

But you are not alone.

For I am here with you,

Though you’re far apart,

You’re always in my heart,

For you are not alone.

                She heard a beep on the other end. “Sorry mother, I have to cut this conversation short. There is another call on the line. I will call you back in a couple of minutes. I promise.”

                “Okay dear.” She saw the caller ID was from an out of area number. She started to have her heart filled him joy. She answered the phone and heard his voice on the other end.

                “I’m sorry…I haven’t gotten home just yet darling. I missed you. I’m sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye. My heart just broke in two because I had to leave so suddenly. My mother had gotten very sick and I had to take care of her. There is something I need to say to you. You are not alone, for I am here with you, though we’re far apart, you’re always in my heart. I can’t wait to see you when I walk through the door. I will be home within minutes. See you then.” He hung up the phone.

                Tears started to stream down her face at his words. She ran over to the door to wait for him. She saw headlights just outside. He came inside…

Just the other night,

I thought I heard you cry.

                He wiped the tears away that were streaming down her face. He kissed her on the cheek. He whispered in her ear. “Please don’t cry…while I was gone…I thought I heard you crying…it broke my heart more.”

                She just smiled at him and gave him the biggest kiss in the world.

Asking me to come,

And hold you in my arms.

                He pulled her into his arms when the kiss was over. He ruffled her hair although he knew how much she hated that. She had a blush on her face…although he had been ruffling her hair. He laughed at the expression on her face. It was so good for her to hear him laugh.

                “I wanted you to hold me for the longest time. I’m glad you’re finally home.” She said the blush still there.

I could hear your prayers,

You burdens I will bear.

                “When you were away…you were always in my dreams. I would pray to God…to make sure you would come home safely.”

                “I thought I could hear your prays…you matter the world to me. I will bear your burdens…I will not lose you again.” He said.

                She had tears in her eyes again.

First I need your hand,

Then forever can begin.

                He pulled a ring out of his pocket, got on one knee, and asked…”Will you marry me?”

                “OH MY GOD, I WOULD LOVE TOO.” She was crying even harder now.

Every day I sit and ask myself,

How did love slip away?

Something whispers in my ear and says,

Though you’re far away,

I am here to stay,

But you are not alone.

For I am here with you,

Though you’re far apart,

You’re always in my heart,

For you are not alone.

                He smiled so tenderly as he held her more…and said so tenderly she couldn’t breathe straight…

                “Whisper three words and I’ll come running. Girl you know I’ll be there. I’ll be there.”

                She was the happiest she had ever been in a time. “I’ll be there too.”
