MNL-Chapter 5A Chapter by Angie Diane♥♥UGH! You'll hate Jonathon even more.Chapter 5 “Aubrey, do you know something that we don’t know,” Becky asked. I just shook my head no really fast. I didn’t really want them to know that I was the girl that he’s been with all day. I really didn’t want anyone to get the wrong idea. I know Alex doesn’t have a crush on me. It couldn’t be possible. We just met today. “No, I don’t know anything about it. That’s just what I heard from others. I have no idea why rumors are starting about him. He just started school today. What did you say about the “witch of the waste”? “She has a jumbo crush on him, but she doesn’t want to break up with Jonathon. She also said that Alexander was sitting next to you in class today. Are you the girl that he’s been with all day,” Jess said giving me a sly smile. “No, what would give you that idea?” “You finally spoke to us when you heard what we were talking about. I think you are the one that he has been with all day. Am I right,” Becky asked. I sighed because I know they wouldn’t have shut up about it until I told them the truth. I just decided to tell them what they wanted to know. “Yes, I’m the girl that he has been with all day. We met in second period and I was the only one that had talked to him all day. We decided that we would become friends. I was just showing him around the school. I don’t have a crush on him or anything. I doubt he has a crush on me either.” “That is pretty interesting. I’m glad that you made a new friend today. I will believe you for now. I feel like you actually like him, don’t you agree, Jess?” “Yes, I do agree with you.” I just nodded and they resumed the conversation about their boyfriends. Jess had gotten into a fight with him last night. They had an argument over something really stupid. Her mother wants her to babysit her younger brother. Her boyfriend, Noah, got mad at her because of it. He probably wanted to go on a date. Jess’ little brother was only six years old so she had to watch him. Her mother was working that evening. She had to catch up on a few things around the office. I gave advice on the situation. “You should just explain to him that you need to watch your brother because he is too young to be on his own. He could seriously hurt himself. Or the house could catch on fire. Anything could happen. It’s better if he isn’t left on his own.” She sighed a little bit. “I truly do not understand why Noah doesn’t understand this. He has a little sister. She is only a couple of months old. One day his parents are going to ask him to watch her. He won’t be able to turn them down especially if they are both working.” “He should be able to understand then. Tell him this when you get home.” “I will talk to him. Thank you, Bre.” After a couple of more minutes of talking the school bell rang. I met up with Alex at the door. The next period was the final class of the day. The class was so boring that Alex actually fell asleep. I woke him up quickly before the teacher caught him. When class was over we parted ways. When I was walking down the hall I all of a sudden was on the floor. I looked up to see that Michelle tripped me. I glared up at her. I saw that Jonathan was with her this time. Before I knew it he pinned me down. I tried to get from underneath him, but he wouldn’t budge. “Get off me!” “No, you’re going to listen to what I have to say. I don’t want you to run away so I felt this was the best way to keep you from leaving. Got it,” he asked me. I didn’t respond, but I nodded. “Give it to her good, Jon,” Michelle responded. I could feel myself getting angry and I started to squirm underneath him. “I want you to apologize to Michelle. She didn’t deserve to get her nose broken. Now apologize,” he said while pulling my hair as he said it. He was pulling it pretty hard. “I’M NOT GOING TO APOLO-,” I was cut off by a slap to the face. I started to cry, but it wasn’t because of weakness. It was because Jonathan slapped me. He should have never laid his hands on me. He looked as surprised as I felt. “I didn’t mean to hit you, Bre,” he responded. After that Jonathan was pulled off of me. I looked up and saw that Alex pulled him off. He looked extremely pissed off. I was questioning if he saw what just happened. “You, how dare you hit a girl in the face! That was low and dirty. You should never slap anyone. If I see you do this to her again…you will have a lot of nightmares. I will beat you so hard that you won’t be able to feel your body. Do you understand me,” Alex screamed at him. Alex helped me up when he threw Jonathon to the side. Alex walked me around the corner. He glared at Michelle and she looked down at the ground. Everyone around me could tell that she had a crush on him. I could tell that he didn’t want to have anything to do with her. Alex was trying to help me stop crying. I couldn’t stop because I could still feel where Jonathan slapped me. It was the second time that he’s done that to me. This time I felt like it was on purpose. He slapped me because I wasn’t going to apologize to Michelle. She didn’t deserve an apology after all she’s done to me. After a few minutes I looked up and saw that we were at the principal’s office. I was shaking really horribly. The secretary looked up at us concerned and called the principal. Alex explained what just happened in the hallway a couple of seconds ago. After that the principal left the office. I already knew that Jonathan was going to get in trouble for what he did. This wasn’t his first offense. This would be his second one so he is getting suspended. I was happy that I wasn’t going to be seeing him for a while. Michelle started crying her eyes out when she found out that he was getting suspended. He glared at me as he was walking out with his parents. His mother was screaming at him at the top of her lungs. I knew his mother stilled cared for me and felt bad that her son hit me. She even felt bad for him pinning me down. She apologized to me for him and he grunted. I knew that he was not really sorry. I could tell how much he hated me at that point. Alex told me that he was going to walk me home. I told him that I could just get a ride from my mother. I called her a couple of seconds later. She was going to be on her way in a few minutes. “Do you want a ride home, Alex?” “Sure, why not?” When my mother finally pulled up she shot me a look. I mouthed to her that he was just a friend. She just nodded and then we got in the car. I found out that Alex only lived up the street from me. Before he got out of the car I gave him the biggest hug I could muster. I really appreciated what he did for me today. He really helped me out. “Thank you, Alex. You are the best.” “It was no trouble at all, Aubrey. I don’t like guys like him. They are just all scum. I will help you out whenever you need it. Also don’t worry I don’t like that Michelle girl either. She has a lot of nerve. I’ll see you tomorrow.” I went home, got in bed, and fell asleep to one of my favorite songs. I woke up a couple of hours later to do homework. I was also thinking about what happened today. I really hope that tomorrow goes a lot smoother for me. I really don’t want another day like this at school. I realized that I made a great new friend today. Alex really was a great person. I am really glad I met him. © 2016 Angie Diane♥♥Author's Note
